The medical massage releases blockages, stimulates the metabolism, helps with pain and promotes the self-healing powers in the body.
Medical massage is a generic term for massage therapy or therapeutic massage with many different techniques that can be used by the therapist to treat. The term is used to distinguish it from a wellness massage. Depending on the need for treatment, the whole body or only parts of it are massaged with dynamic stroking movements, stretching, kneading and variable pressure.
From classical massage to deep tissue, from manual pain therapy (osteopressure) to DORN therapy, many massage practices or manual forms of therapy are used in our Zurich practice.
Medical massage can have the following positive effects:
- Release of tension and hardening in the musculature.
- Blood circulation in all muscle and tissue layers – stimulation of the metabolism.
- Mobilization of the joints.
- Recovery of strained nerves “pinched nerve”, improves sleep.
- Stress reduction, reduction of stress hormones – the baby can also relax better.
- Edema is reduced, swollen legs are relieved.
- Brings you back into more contact with your own body and the baby.
A treatment usually lasts between 75 and 90 minutes.
You can arrange shorter or longer treatments with me individually.
The massages are recognized by the additional insurances of health insurance companies.
Attention to detail
I work with warm oil and pleasant soothing music while massaging. Before and after the treatment I leave you alone in the room, so that you can relax and get dressed in peace. During the massage your whole body is covered, except for the area I massage. Your intimate zone remains covered at all times.
Special form of “medical massage” with TCM
At our practice “Ekkehardstrasse 11, 8006 Zürich” a special form of medical massage can be booked. The basis of this massage is the Tuina massage, which is treated with forms of acupressure, manual therapy, light chiropractic and stretching techniques.
In addition, complementary methods such as cupping or guasha are often used, and if desired or indicated, acupuncture or moxa therapy is also incorporated into the treatment.
